In the beginning, there is no evil. What we perceive as Evil is Metastasized Emotional Trauma. The path to Emotional Healing is through Acceptance and Understanding.
It appears that snow is upon us, but that shouldn't keep us from moving on the inside :) And speaking of inside, inner work is always rewarding so if you have not yet tried Feldenkrais, this is a great time to start - or go back to it.
Starting, re-starting, or even changing your Martial Arts practice can be difficult and the available choices could seem overwhelming. How do you know what is the best fit for your kids? Or for yourself?
Our ability to create triggers in order to affect and modify our inner processes (physiologically and psychologically) is one of the most powerful “techniques” at our disposal. Why not use it all the time!?
Through that awareness, we open the wonderful paths of learning and practicing not only punches, kicks, blocks, and throws - but also the intricate and delicate art of being human.
Oftentimes, our beliefs will undermine our ability to strategize pragmatically, leading us astray, getting us lost. This is in fact a lack of proper understanding of method and training coupled with a fall for the easier path - one of surrendering our own ability to act to a “higher power” be that either an elusive concept such as “energy”, a more profound religious element or deity, or even a more modern take on the same phenomena - political faith in our government and political leaders.
As always with my writing or classes, I invite you on an exploratory exercise of how you can make various mental practices your own. This involves your willingness to try different things while at the same time remaining aware that everything you try can be adapted to serve your well-being.
As with everything that requires intellectual consumption and digestion, take my thoughts with a grain of salt. Critical thinking will make it taste much better.

Every basic ballet exercise helps with both stability and mobility. Each class slowly works with balance and strength. From the ground up, we talk about how to feel and activate stability while shifting weight and moving through space.
